Confirmation

Tonight I sit here wonderstruck at the way God orchestrasts things.  I find it absolutely amazing that God places people in our lives at just the right time.  Tonight, I went to a voice lesson expecting to learn about how to sing better and instead I learned about the heart of God.  (Ok, so I learned how to sing better too.). My voice teacher was trying to help me learn about emotion and give me confidence.  She told me about The battles in the Old Testament and the importance of musicians,  she told about how God had created us (at least some of us) to sing.  She told me about how singing (Praising God) defeats the enemy.  Even in the voice lesson itself, she confirmed some other things that God has been showing me.  Once again, the sacred echo of God's love was heard as I drove home marveling at God's timing and how he orchestrates things so that we hear them at just the right time.  So tonight I go to sleep wonderstruck and at peace.

Emotional

As I drove to work that morning, I was listening to Spanish worship songs, not because I speak Spanish, but because I was supposed to be learning the songs in Spanish.  I wasn't feeling so good and felt very anxious for a number of reasons.  All of a sudden, as I continued down the road, God met me there.  The clouds above me were moving in the most beautiful way,  the wind was moving the clouds quickly across the sky and the sun was just barely peeking through.  I knew at that moment that God was there and I was wonderstruck.  Then the song on the cd (that I didn't know the words for) just struck a note in my heart and I began crying at the beauty and wonder of the Father.  What an amazing experience.  What a way to see God's presence in the everyday.

God is With Me

Frustrated was how I felt as I drove back to the house to pick up the item I forgot.
Angry with myself for forgetting and annoyed that I would now arrive late whenI had tried so hard to be on time.
I only had one thing to remember and I forgot it.

After we ate, we played a simple game.  We had a partner, we answered a question, we switched partners.  The first question we answered was:  I know God is with me when...

My partner said: I know God is with me when He calms me after I forgot to bring the one item we needed and had to go all the way back home for it.  I said: Me Too!  Me Too!

How wonderful it is that God reminds us we're not the only one...even in our mistakes and failures.  Even when we're angry and upset and feeling stupid, God shows up to remind us that we are loved and cared for.

Love

Tonight I am wonderstruck by God's command to love.

This morning our sermon was on John 3:16-17.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

We talked not only about the amazing Love God has for us, but our response to that love.
Then tonight as I got in my car to go get something to eat, the sermon on the radio was on God's command to Love.

John 13:34-35
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

The preacher talked about what it means to be a disciple.  Then on the way home.  This song came on the radio...and once again I heard the sacred echo of God's Call to Love.

Presence

Today as I was driving home watching the beautiful, bright sun shiny sky, this song came on the radio:

I was Wonderstuck by the words and it totally led me into a time of worship.

Who is like You Lord in all the earth?
Matchless love and beauty endless worth
Nothing in this world can satisfy
Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry

Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me

Treasure of my heart and of my soul
In my weakness You are merciful
Redeemer of my past and present wrong
Holder of my future days to come

Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me

Oh Jesus Oh Jesus
Your presence is Heaven to me
Oh Jesus Oh Jesus
Your presence is Heaven to me

All my days on earth I will await
The moment that I see You face to face
Nothing in this world can satisfy
Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry

Nothing in this world can satisfy
Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry
Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry

Oh Jesus oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me
Oh Jesus oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me

Laws of Nature

Tonight, I stand amazing at God's amazing plan.  I look at how the world works together and wonder how it is that people don't believe in God.  It seems impossible to me that these things were all created by chance.

This evening I watched a documentary on The Star of Bethlehem (Check it our here).  I was totally blown away at the fact that God could have ordained not only the birth of Christ, but his Death from the beginning of time.  I was totally amazed at God's plan.  It completely reminds me that NOTHING is out of His plan.  All of my worries and striving is for nothing in the sight of His awesome scope and power.  He named each of the stars and set them in their place.  NOTHING is out of place.  I definitely needed this reminder and once again I find myself wonderstruck at The work of His hands.

Pixie Dust

Today's Wonderstuck Wednesday Challenge was to pray for Pixie Dust and watch to see how God would answer.  Margaret Feinberg challenged us to ask God to shower you with his grace, favor, and delight.

As I have reflected throughout the day, I can see that God showered me with just that.  He showed me His love and joy throughout the day.
  • In a good workout this morning.
  • With a compliment from my dad.
  • With time making cards with Mom.
  • Seeing the beauty of God's creation in those cards,
  • A sacred echo in the form of a scripture verse.  Psalm 16:11 (It's the third time this week.)
  • In the Joy of The Lord.
  • In the Presence of God.
  • In the beauty of the night sky.
  • In the remembered phrase of a speaker saying the words of God: "I LOVE you, I LOVE you, I LOVE you!
  • In the words of a song.
  • In the quiet rest of the end of the day.
God's wonder has filled me with Joy, Love, and Peace.
